The Lowdown
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) continues to gain popularity as the top alternative to conventional trenching. The flexibility to drill under streets, highways, rivers, and environmentally sensitive areas (such as wetlands) with minimal disturbance to the surface above makes HDD an ideal solution for the installation of gas, electric, telecommunications and water/sewer lines for utility companies.
Subterra HDD is equipped with a variety of dirt paddles and TriHawk bits that are capable of drilling through all types of geological formations. With reamers up to 32” in size, we’re able to install steel and poly pipe ranging from 2” to 20” in diameter and up to 500 metres in length. And with a fully mobile operation, we’re able to complete work across all of Western Canada.
